The Green Creature Inside of Us

Few days ago, eventually I watched the sequel of a huge green superhero full loaded with Gamma exposure. Yup finally I watched HULK 2. I’m not a superhero movie fans, but stories behind them are always interesting for me to think about. The stories behind aren’t as stunning as the cool mask or costume they wear. Not as strong as bulletproof armor they use. Not as fascinating as their special ability to fly or others.

Inside their cool mask, super hi-tech gadget that can give multi-orgasm
to any boys in the world, and their special gift, they just an ordinary man as we are. They do stupid things (what is more stupid than using your self as Gamma experimentation?!). They live with fear, doubt, hate, and also love.

From several heroes’ movies I watched, HULK is out of the ordinary for me. This green creature is on his journey to release all the power he got. He is in a journey to be an average man. His dreams are waking up in the morning with his lover by his side, has a life without worrying about will he destroy something today, no worry about will he has to buy a new shirt-again-today, will he be killed by his own father in law (hope mine won’t be like this). I bet he dreams for being able to hit someone in the face, fight ‘till the end with his own bare hand with normal size and normal color – not green and huge. He’s willing to give anything to be NORMAL.

Meanwhile, the villain is willing to give anything to be like HULK. To be big – really big, fierce, and powerful. Again another stupidity happened, he used him self as an experiment to have those abilities (what the hell is wrong with scientist’s head?!).

For some of us, maybe this story resemblance to ours. We’re dying to be known as an ordinary person. To be not known as the smart, the nice-looking, or the talented one. We don’t want to be recognized as a ‘Super Heroes’ material person. Mean while some others envy us.

Maybe the system made us not feeling good with our specialty. If we’re smart we’ll be judged as nerd. If we’re good looking will be judged as no brain. If we’re skillful we’ll be given ‘bonus’ workload. May be the system made us punished by our ability. So we hide it deep inside, lock it, throw the key away, and hate our self when it “accidentally” appears.

Why can’t we just be proud of what we have, of what we are? We work hard to be smart, we study or read books while others wasting their time. We work hard control the food we eat, having diet, doing exercise, while others watching TV with a bucket of Pop corn in their right and beer in their left. We run our clock for 12 hours, working harder and smarter, while others licking the boss’s ass. We should be proud of what we’re able to do and with our achievement. Just don’t let others steal it away by misconstruing us. Success is our right and destiny when we work on it.

One thing we should remember, being proud with our self is different from being a smug. With great power comes great responsibility. Proud of who we are and what we have achieved, but be humble. Help others. We have the glory not by our own might; we have others that have supported us. Respect them, be thankful.

And one more thing…This is the ultimate secret for being a superhero. A Superhero is some one with special ability and power… Find them in you, because each of us has it. Every of us is a Superhero.

I can’t stand to fly
I’m not that naive
I’m just out to find
The better part of me

I’m more than a bird... I’m more than a plane More than some pretty face beside a train It’s not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I’ll never see

It may sound absurd...but don’t be naive Even heroes have the right to bleed I may be disturbed...but won’t you concede Even heroes have the right to dream It’s not easy to be me…
